WeChat developers wanted!

29 June 2018

We’re opening a pilot cutting-edge pizza shop in China.

There will be no cashiers and cash desks, and it won’t be possible to pay with cash at this pizzeria. All orders and payments will go through our mobile app on WeChat messenger. The pizza shop will be located downtown in the heart of one of the largest cities in China in a place with intense pedestrian traffic. We’re going to sell lots of good pizzas for a pretty good price.

So we’re now actively looking for WeChat developers. If you have any experience in developing apps for WeChat or in collaborating with developers from China, we’d be happy to learn from you. Any help will be highly appreciated. Please, leave a comment here or reach out directly to our CTO, Alexander Andronov, at a.andronov@dodopizza.com. Thanks a lot in advance!

Dear friends, our pizzerias outside Russia already bring us around 15% of all Dodo Pizza sales. Our internal IT system, Dodo IS, was made multilingual a few years ago. And now one of our main challenges is how to set up effective tech support for Dodo IS users in 10 countries where our brand is present: Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China, the UK, and the US.

At the end of 2017, we introduced our first line of support, but it’s not enough. We need to do more and learn how to develop it properly. We’d like to study how other companies from different markets deal with the same tasks in multilingual tech support for their users living in different time zones. Of course, we’d be happy to share the experience and knowledge we’ve gathered in this field so far.

If you have any such experience or can recommend a friend, we’d be happy to talk. Leave a comment here or drop a message directly to Dodo Pizza CTO Alexander Andronov at  a.andronov@dodopizza.com.

New location in Kyrgyzstan

27 June 2018

This month, our remarkable partner in Kyrgyzstan, Esen Jumanov, and his team opened their second Dodo Pizza in Bishkek, the country’s capital. My warmest congratulations!

The Dodo team in Kyrgyzstan is tough. Bishkek isn’t a rich city, but our first pizzeria shows solid results and constant growth due to creative marketing, effective operations, and stable quality of the product. The pizzeria is profitable and nets around $50,000 a month in sales.

Our business model can work in very different markets. In this spreadsheet, you can study the monthly sales of any Dodo Pizza shop out of the 343 we now have. If you want to open a Dodo Pizza in any country, reach out to us at franchise@dodopizza.com.

Stopping by at the first Dodo Pizza opened in Saint Petersburg

10 June 2018

Stopping by at the first Dodo Pizza opened in Saint Petersburg, Russia…. It belongs to our franchisee Sergey Gritsenko. Sergey was one of our first partners—and he is among the toughest. He opened his first Dodo Pizza in his home town in Bashkortostan. Then he sold it and set out on a journey to conquer the Northern Capital, AKA Saint Petersburg. Now his Dodo Pizza is considered a legendary pizzeria in our chain. Showing pretty impressive financial results (in May, it netted 6.7 mln rubles—around $106,000), its team manages to provide customers with superb service. They follow all of our rules, they keep the place super clean, and they are fast. I’m proud to have such an amazing team aboard.

300 pizza shops in Russia

300 pizza shops in Russia! Last weekend, Dodo Pizza reached a symbolic milestone—we opened our 300th pizzeria in Russia, in Anapa, a city on the northern coast of the Black Sea. Seven years ago, when we just started, this number would have looked insane. In total, we now have 338 pizzerias in 10 countries.
